Swensen's

We had the Beef Tenderloin with coleslaw and potato chips. It was done in accordance to our request (medium rare). The quality of tenderloin was good. Had always loved their coleslaw, somehow the serving this time seemed bigger - good for us. I had a complimentary mint ice cream (birthday month treat). Perks for being a SWENSEN’S member, which cost nothing and in addition we get some credits for each patronage 👍. Must say that the services provided by all the staff were exemplary even though with near full house. They gave good guidances and recommendations and did their best to oblige our requests. Well done!

We were pondering if we should give a 4 or 5 stars. But seeing the last few reviews, think it deserves a 5 to bring up the average. We really had a good dining experience here. Staffs were really delivery to check our vaccination status and IC for place of residence. Waiters were nice pleasant and attended to us with smile and prompt response. I strongly recommend the Impossible burger. It is the best I have tasted and I finally agree it tastes like real meat. Our boys managed to finish the pizza, chickens and the sausage rolls all by themselves. Even the fries were also swept clean. That means they really like it. Carbonara pasta is about average but the chocolate fondue set up a nice climax desert time. When we saw the long queue waiting outside as we left, we were really glad that we came early. Have to admit, the last time I visited a Swrnson’s was almost 30 years ago. Think we won’t wait so long to come back again.

Service was alright and not many customers during this lunch hour. Doesn't seems to have many staff but seems manageable. Unfortunately I must feedback the fish and chip was rather disappointing as it's tasteless though is fresh and nicely deep fried. Another dish I ordered the Seafood Baked rice has a better taste.

It's an empty large store, so it took a while to be seated because... of reasons. Service is good, clinically professional. Fish and chips was served without the usual condiments (chilli & tomato sauce shortage maybe). Fish was dry, and tougher than my Asian childhood memories. Good thing I had coffee on my side. Conclusion: doubt I'd be back because I don't want to.

Food was alright, we had the impossible burger and breadcrumb chicken. Unfortunately our experience was rather tarnished by the messy service. The two managers seemed incredibly overworked, rushing to fulfil orders, cashiering and takeaways, whereas the rest of the staff seemed barely present, and clearly empty booths (that abided to SMM rules) were not being filled at all, causing a long queue. Many tables including ours were trying to get service but were constantly forgotten, leading to a lot of confusion and frustration.
