Jia Xiang Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee

The most basic noodle costs $7.90 and it tasted horrible. The kolo noodles were acceptable but the char siew was too sweet, the wanton had a weird sour taste and the prawns (frozen kind) were tasteless and added no value to the dish. Tea is the 3-in-1 kind but charges $2 for it. Better to get your fix at Wang’s Cafe just a few stalls away for a freshly brewed tea at $1.80. Old uncle whom brought us our food was super friendly though. Restaurant was very spacious too.

Is good that this stall can still survive during covid, old brand with different outlet available. Had my lunch here. Not sure bcos I too long didn’t eat at this branch or not, i felt the taste abit different from previous. Overall still ok, the staffs are action fast especially during the lunch hrs cos by 12pm the seat will filled in very fast. If want to skip the crowd better come before 12pm, or aft lunch hrs.

Feb 2022. Fainting after a medical checkup fast. Came here for convenience as it was directly opposite Shenton medical. At $7.90, it looked scrumptious with 2 prawns, 2 tiny wanton and lots of char siew and minced pork. It was quite ok, the chilli and noodle were delicious. The only complaint was the cold and tough char siew. The staff were nice.

Place is quite big. Self ordering via app. Noodles are good and of quality. Portion is also just right. Has a beautiful looking towards the port. Noodles are springy. Base sauce is very unique. Suits the noodles well. Char siew is soft and tender Over all a very good bowl of noodles. (Ask for extra pork lard for the crunch)
