First, service was fabulous. I tried the grilled rabbit with fried brussel sprouts. Rabbit was fall of the bone delicious. I do not like brussel sprouts... I will order this each time I come. Teriyaki honey fried brussel sprouts.

Food was really good! I've had Shrimp and grits and the Cajun pasta during my 2 visits. Took a really long time to get our food and service was very slow. Tables remained uncleaned the whole time we were there. We were overcharged on our ticket. 3 additional drinks we didn't have. The band, tonight, was so loud we couldn't have any conversation. Apparently, they're air conditioning is not up to par. They brought out fans to cool the seating area. Still hot and it's 9:30pm. People fanning while trying to eat. We were told there was only 1 cook and he was having trouble with the grill. It's a shame. Had such high hopes for this place.

I went to this establishment for fight night and the service and food was horrible. We sat ourselves, had to clean the table off ourselves, and go to host stand and get our own menus. We waited an hour for our food, it came out cold, we did not get all our food, we had to keep going up ourselves to ask for blue cheese for the wings or lemon for our water. The food was not good, the calamari was salty and the service was horrible. They had about 5 servers maybe more but they were too busy running their mouth instead of doing their job. Our server was nice but you could tell she was overwhelmed it being "fight night" however there was not a lot of people. She had to write our order down with a crayon... overall this experience turned me off and I will not be returning.

Full disclaimer: my sister is one of the owners. I visited while traveling, and during their "soft launch," but the food was great. I had the gator bites appetizer and low country broil. Try the baked mac and cheese - it's fantastic! Jeff and Jennifer (the owners) are longtime Spartanburg residents - I know they are always welcoming feedback on the food, service and full dining experience.

I was really hoping to like this place! The location is kind of strange but that doesn't bother me at all, adds a Cool vibe to the restaurant. Soup, salad and bread were all good, though it's hard to go wrong with that. I had the rabbit and my wife had the quail. When we got our food it was so full of tiny bones that it was almost impossible to eat. Reminded me of eating fish that I caught in a lake when I was a kid. I have had both rabbit and quail before without having that many bones in it. The waiters response was both of those meats are supposed to have a lot of bones in them. I do understand that both of them do naturally have a lot of bones in them, but the preparation of the meat should include De-boning. If a restaurant is going to serve something like that they need to make sure their waiters warn people before they order it. Took a very long time to finish my food. Neither one of us thought the food tasted great, honestly tasted like something we could have cooked at home ourselves. We both ordered our own plates and left hungry. We ended up getting more food somewhere else afterwards. For the price range of this restaurant the quality should be better and the plates should be bigger. Overall was kind of disappointing. If you're going for the bar atmosphere then you will probably be satisfied. I would have given a better rating had the food been a little cheaper. There are plenty of other options that will give you much better quality food for your money. I won't be going back here again.

My first visit. 5 stars for the food quality which was surprisingly excellent. Food quantity was much more than I expected. The service was solid and the price was fair.
Seafood is the Palmetto Grill's forte. I had flounder only because I figured it was a safe bet. My wife, who loathes seafood, picked the ribeye. The flounder was exquisite. The ribeye was cooked exactly as she ordered and seasoned to perfection.
Decor is industrial eclectic. There's a large bar and the sit down options in the spacious dining room range from 2-place bistro tables to 12-place tables for large groups. Servers are omnipresent and attentive. Restrooms are large and clean. There's a small stage for bands.
The Palmetto Grill is just a couple of blocks down West Main Street from the new AC Marriott hotel and all of the action on Morgan Square. There's adequate parking on site but downtown parking decks are a short walk away if one chooses an after dinner stroll.

Food is good but you never know if they will be open. I had family in town on a Friday. They hours are til midnight but I called at 9:33pm to let them know we were coming. The owner answered and said we're closed come tomorrow night, we'll have a band. We wanted to eat not go see a band.

Excellent place to dine in. The owner is very nice and pays attention to his customers needs. Service was as well as expected. A great place to relax with friends after dining in. The sectional living areas was a great choice.
