Grain Tasting Bar

I always love coming for the drinks at Grain. They have handcrafted cocktails that always vary to keep the menu interesting. I still tend to order my favourite drink when I’m in - an Old Fashioned. It always tastes great but for a nicer cocktail bar, it still shocks me that as a cocktail bar they do not have large ice cubes for the Old Fashioned when the local chain restaurants nearby offer it for the full experience. Michael, Drew, and Christina are always wonderful whenever I visit, they’re another reason I keep coming back with friends.

Horrible experience at this restaurant stay away if you can. Lots of other places with way better service near by. Paid $3.50 for a sprit that I never got a refill for after asking for it 10 min. When I asked for a desert at 10:04 they told me the kitchen as closed. While I was waiting for the server to bring me a refill. Funny my service was a tall guy but yet the receipt said Jenny. If you can please stay way from here. Will never come back or recommend this place.

A big regular at this place & love the red sangria especially when Teresa at the bar makes them! However, Jenny the waitress needs an adjustment to her customer service. She serves the customer! And when a customer asks to have the windows closed she is not supposed to argue just close them! Waitstaff is supposed to ensure the customers experience is exemplary not ruin it with their own agendas.

We frequent this place since I work around corner. But likely won’t go back till this stubborn bad waitress leaves. 16 degrees outside and she decides she is hot and opens several big windows. Great if above 20 or so. But frikin cold at 16. Everyone put on jackets. I asked her to close them. She closed one only and gave me attitude when I asked why freeze us out? She said some people like it? I asked who? Did you ask anyone? She ignored me. So we paid up and moved to far side. But was still cold in there. I didnt bring gloves. So uncomfortable and she couldn’t care. Told our new waitress and she agreed it was very cold but also did nothing. We left with almost 2/3 of the people that were there. Great job stubborn woman! We spend 2-500 dollars a couple times a week there. Guess Cactus Club will get our business now. Terrible experience by a bad waitress.

Honestly not my favourite restaurant. When you first go in, it is the typical bar vibe and you seat yourself. The service is decent but no different from your standard restaurant. My dinner was lacking flavour and I found myself eating out of hunger (hadn't eaten for 7 hrs) rather than craving for more. The Ceasar was decent but a read on the spicy side considering i like habanaro tobasco. Overall 2 out of 5 as the service was ok and for at least edible.
