Happy Garden

We have been coming to happy garden for over 20 years. It's a small mom and pop Chinese takeout store. Great service, great food. The restaurant portion used to be open a long time ago but not for a few years, especially now in the post COVID world that we live in. 5 stars for consistently good food, we have since moved from Watertown but we drive 30 minutes to keep getting the great food that they serve. I highly recommend.

Pork lo mein was similar to canned spaghetti, was very wet and bland . The General tsos chicken was like eating buffalo wings , tasted like they used a regular hot sauce/sweet and sour mix or something. The chicken chow mein had literally 3 pieces of chicken. The garlic beef was bland. I got 2 combo platters and 2 meals and only got 1 extra small size white rice…white rice is probably the least expensive thing for them and they can’t even give you a large container of it with all that food! Portion sizes are good otherwise (besides the white rice).

The food is edible but not enjoyable. Do NOT get the dragon and Phoenix! There is very little shrimp mixed in with a ton of vegetables all of which is drenched in an awful tangy sauce. Not a quality place (possibly the worst Chinese food I've had) and they left out part of our take out order. I plan to avoid this place.

I hate to leave bad reviews but i have no idea how this place is still open. The food taste is good (depending on what you order), the amounts are terrible and over price. My daughter ordered chicken wings with french fries for $5.74; she only got 2 1/2 wings (1 looked like a bone covered with skin) and 10 fries. Down the road at BK you get the chicken fries with med fries for $3 and not only brings more but it taste better. We wont EVER go there again, this has happened the last 3 times (trying to give them the benefit of the doubt), no more we ARE done
