Circa 1922

Circa 1922 has never disappointed us! The food is always perfection, to the point where you have to be careful when ordering sharables, as you may not want to share, leaving little room for your entrée. Then your entrée comes, and you'll think that you just have a few bites and take the rest to go, but you can't stop eating it because everything is just so amazingly delicious! Pictures are what we ordered, with the exception of the" BARREL-AGED OLD FASHIONED" (Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon, Demerara Sugar, Angostura Bitters, Burnt Orange) that didn't make it... if you're a consumer of the Old Fashion, best I've had in Wilmington thus far. Oh, and if you're not, just don't. And the rolls... just dangerous! Service was spectacular, was poured tap water, I instantly asked our waitress if mineral was an option, she was overly apologetic for not asking as she removed the glass she filled and promptly returned with mineral and a new glass. She was very attentive the entire time we were there, making sure we were enjoying ourselves and didn't need anything. We had a 5:15 pm. reservation, and we arrived a little early, around 5:00 p.m., so we were expecting a little wait time (a.k.a. bar time), but we were pleasantly surprised when immediately seated. We had a table for 2 on the center, right side, which has quite a few of the same seating for 2, but spaced out enough to not be involved in your temporary neighbors' conversations. Lighting & music stayed low, but lighting was not so low that you would need your phone's light to read the menu. All staff that we interacted with that evening were very professional and polite. This was not our first visit, and it will definitely not be our last!

Circa was highly recommended to me for their tapas, however, we decided a birthday meal deserved full entrees. Every morsel was perfect. Flavor - Temperature - Texture - Perfection. Our server, Brandon, was courteous, professional, funny and very helpful in his recommendations. I would highly recommend treating yourself to Circa 1922 - soon!!

WOW! We heard good things about this place but needed to try it to be sure and it didn’t disappoint. We did the fixed prix menu and assumed portions would be smaller but they were not. Also got the fried calamari which was one of the best we’ve ever had (not soggy at all and had the perfect crispyness). For the entrees, the herb chicken breast was juicy and the steak was was tender. The little desserts at the end (pot de crème and blueberry cheesecake) were the perfect ending.

Food & service has always been superb. I have come to this restaurant more than 10 times and have never had a complaint. Wine and recommendations are always amazing. Caesar salad is always dressed perfectly, the battered anchovies are my favorite part. I could have dozens and dozens of the oysters here, if I could afford it lol. They are to die for literally, especially with the accompanied sorbet, hot sauce and mignonette. I have dreams about the carpaccio, that’s how good it is. Everything on the menu is amazing, and their specials are top notch as well. I could go on and on about the food. And the service is always welcoming, not rushed whatsoever, and personable which I believe a lot of people including myself look for in a restaurant. :) I LOVEEEE <333 this place

I've ate here before but had not left a review yet. The food served here is just phenomenal. My husband and I started with the crab dip and then followed with the bolognese and hanger steak. We finished with the coconut sushi. Everything was delicious, the drinks were good and the service was excellent. I recommend for anyone wanting an upscale meal. Lastly props to the live piano entertainment, the gentleman was excellent and I enjoyed most of his song elections.

The original restaurant we had picked for the night had a 2 hour wait for a table, so we ended up looking for somewhere else to eat and found Circa 1922 recommended online. We’re so glad we didn’t eat at our original place because we LOVED Circa 1922! We were able to find a reservation online for a table in the next half hour. Parking was easy (although paid). Our table was ready as soon as we arrived, even though we were early. The hostess and our waitress were both very friendly and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the hanger steak and it was perfect. The calamari was really well seasoned and the wasabi aoli was a great touch. My spouse had pasta and it was also very good. The ambiance was really enjoyable, mood lighting, not too loud, tables spaced out. Overall a great experience and will be going back on our next trip to Wilmington!

I have visited Circa 1922 many times. The food is always excellent. The service has been excellent as well. The downtown building makes for a nice atmosphere, though it can get a little noisy when busy. Interesting and tasty bar specialties are offered as well. It's expensive but you certainly get what you pay for here.
