Smoke On The Water

Not sure how my wife found this place but it looked pretty cool and we decided to give it a try because I'm southern and I'm a BBQ Freak! We arrived at sunset and just the scenery was awesome. This restaurant is in a growing upscale area and the location on the water is really great. I'm going to cut straight to it, the food was amazing. I'm serious. Delicious. The portions were very generous. I had the trio platter and I loved it. My wife got a couple side items and she also shared my trio platter. She raved about the food. Excellent service. I live 45 minutes away but we can't wait to go back. I thought prices were very fair as well. This is an establishment that I'm sure you will love and we all need to support it. Last week I had the pleasure of experiencing a new restaurant at Smoke on the Water . From the time I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile and respect . I walked through the indoor seating and bar and was very impressed . I try and look at peoples faces and emotions as I pass through on new places and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time ! Staff was constantly on the move and didn’t see any one on the phones or not being productive. We was seated outside under the patio where we were almost instantly met by our waitress ( Stephanie) . She asked for our drink order and upon return she went over specials and her favorites . She was super informative and obviously has a good taste in food because her favorites were phenomenal ! She also helped us decide on a few cocktails that very good to say the least ! After we all feasted on some of the best chicken wings , prime rib and a few other appetizers we went to sit out back by the fire to sit by the fire and just enjoy the environment!! Over all a wonderful experience from the time we walked through the door and can’t wait to find the time to get back out there !!!! If your a foodie and enjoy a relaxing beautiful environment I suggest making your way out there !!!! Thank you Smoke !

I had the shrimp tacos which were quite good. My husband had the barbecue meat plate with brisket, pork and chicken wings with a choice of sauces. He liked it very much. Our dinner companions had the fish and chips which they enjoyed. It is on the river and on the spro g or warmer weather would have been lovely on the patio, but the night we were there was a little chilly. Brrr!

Twice this restaurant has accommodated our large group of jet ski riders. This time 10/15/23 there were 25 riders. The Smoke Brisket Sandwich is HUGE, great smokey flavor. Bring your appetite or prepared to take a doggy bag home. Service is friendly and quick to serve. It is a dog friendly establishment, plenty of pooches. The outside dining area is spacious and comfortable. The bar is well stocked with plenty from which to choose your libation.

My wife and wanted to go out for a Saturday lunch to somewhere new. We chose Smoke and glad we did. We drove from home straight down passed the docks along the Cape Fear River thru downtown Wilmington and it gave us another view and understanding of the docks size and impact on the river! We were seated inside near the bar and as usual these days it rained while we were there. We started out with oysters on the half shell and a Bulleit Old Fashion for my wife and a vodka Cucumber Ricky for me. Both were excellent. My wife ordered the N’Awlins Oyster Po Boy and I had the Baja Shrimp Tacos with a side of Texas Poutine. Great choices and a delicious lunch! Our server was Kenleigh and she did a great job guiding us since it was our first time and made sure everything worked out! We decided to walk on the board walk after lunch and get the view of the river from this location and got to see some Fiddler Crabs scurrying around the shore line under the board walk!

We had read many good reviews about this place and were eager to try it. The location is beautiful. There is an abundance of parking, but we still had trouble finding a spot near the restaurant. We got a wait time of 30 minutes, but it was okay because we wandered the paths around the restaurant for that time. Walked down the pier to enjoy the breeze. We were seated after the anticipated wait time. Then we seemed to have been forgotten? After 20 minutes without even water, we said something, and quickly had service. And to their credit they were very apologetic and very attentive after that. It was a very busy night it seemed, and while frustrating, it was corrected. Food was good. I had the Texas poutine and loaded nachos, both. The poutine would have been plenty. The nachos are an incredibly generous pile of goodness. I also tried the My-Thai, which I definitely recommend.
