Generous serving of lemon chicken and deep fried pork chop but the pork chop was refried and overcooked. Lemon chicken is not at all lemony, except for the batter, no flavour at all. Seafood hotpot could use more flavour, more veggies than seafood for $18 dollars in a small hotpot! But that is not the worst of it though. An Asian man who looked like he owned the place or at the very least, the manager (there were only two people there, him and the female server) greeted everybody and asked about their food and experience. Although it’s not a big deal, just odd that we were the only table he didn’t asked about. And when I looked around, I realized we were the only ones who aren’t white. At check out where you have to pay at the front, he was talking enthusiastically at the older white customer and when it was my husband’s turn to pay, he got all cold and uninterested. So what’s the deal? A classic case of fellow Asian being racist to another Asian? Sad for this person. Not eating there at all and definitely telling my Asian friends about it too. Boo.

Made my mother’s birthday special. My mom cannot eat out at very many places but this place has an entire menu that is gluten free! They have yummy traditional food and yummy gluten free food. Being on lock down because of Covid and not being able to celebrate with her … they went over and above to get her birthday dinner to her as a surprise from us! Highly recommend this place and have been going since I was a young girl! Thanks for always delivering amazing customer service!

Just finished the lunch buffet and wanted to let you know how tasty it was! The green beans, grilled with such a wonderful smokey flavour and paired with the tender chicken is outstanding and your spring rolls are crunchy, delicate, melt in your mouth dreams that make you wish you could eat for four people. Don’t get me started on the ginger beef or crispy chicken wings - MAGNIFICENT! Such a gem of a place, can’t wait to go back. Thank-you Empress of China!!

Ordered a meal from here for my anniversary. We have been ordering from here for several years but today we were very disappointed and will not be returning. The food used to be good however things have changed. The lemon chicken was soggy and the noodles were dry and flavorless. We eventually called to complain after our meal because the sweet and sour pork ribs were extremely hard to chew. The manager advised that this is normal and argued that they have always been this way. He asked us to bring the dish back to the restaurant even though there were 3 or 4 pieces eaten out of container. I thought that this was quite unsafe given there is a pandemic however I agreed to return it for a refund.

We ordered from empress of china the other night. We spent quite a bit of money, when we got home and tried the food, it literally tasted like boiled noodles and vegetables, there was absolutely no flavour. We thought maybe it was just that one dish but after trying all 8 dishes they ALL tasted like nothing. I shouldn’t have to order food to then re season it at home. It was very disappointing to the point where we will never order from there again and will tell our friends about how awful the food was.

Tried for the first time today and was not impressed. #45 Chicken with Veggies, #52 Beef with Broccoli and #64 Empress Chow Mein were all cooked decently but had no seasoning at all, even the sauce was clear and didn't taste like anything. There wasn't even any onions or garlic thrown in to give the dish flavour. If you like eating food with no outside flavour, so the chicken only tastes like chicken and the beef only tastes like beef, then you may enjoy these dishes. #53 Lightly Battered Prawns were over cooked and dripping with oil. The only good dish was #42 Chicken with Black Bean and garlic Sauce. Overall I would not order again
