O'charley's

Visited Bristol this weekend for family visit. We stopped by O’Charley’s for dinner. We were seated immediately and greeted promptly. Hot rolls and drinks were brought out within minutes. I normally order the prime rib but O’Charley’s has taken that off the menu. So from the recommendation of our server, I ordered the balsamic chicken from the new menu items. A large thin chicken breast was grilled and served with asparagus, tomatoes and cheese and then drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Chicken was moist and seasoned well. Toppings were grilled and crisp. Balsamic glaze was…well perfect! When you took a bite with all ingredients involved it was a flavor explosion in your mouth! Steamed broccoli was perfect, just needed some salt. Mashed potatoes were warm and moist with a nice flavor. Rolls were piping hot! Light and fluffy! Servers were friendly and attentive! Best O’Charley’s we have been too in a long time! Thanks for a great meal!

When I ordered my food, i forgot to order sauces on the side. While I didn't mind the sauce on my sandwich, it was a little heavy in a flavor I'm not fond of. Our waitress, Tina, stopped by to check on us and noticed I hadn't really touched much of my food. When she learned I didn't care for the sauce, she made sure my entire meal was remade with sauces on side. I truly appreciate what she had done. She made our experience that much more enjoyable. Years ago, while on road trips, my wife and I would love stopping at O’Charley’s for the warm, slightly sweet rolls that would melt in your mouth like cotton Candy. Those days are done and past. Very disappointed in the state of the rolls we bought while passing through Bristol. As you can see from the photo, no longer are these rolls, they are more like flattens pancakes. They stuffed 16 rolls into a bag, cramming them in. Bye bye sweet fluffy goodness. Along with forgetting to include butter and a spoon for my soup, this visit was a bit disappointing.

Food use to be good here. Today I got lunch, potato soup and club sandwich. The worst food I've had in a while. Bread was thick stale and hard, no condiments. Cheese seemed fake and doesn't even melt. Potato soup was basically cheese and some was not melted and left more of a slim like texture. Overall the whole meal was gross and thrown away. My last visit! To bad because they use to have good food.

I wish I could leave a better review, as I generally don't complain. But tonight's dinner was truly awful. The restaurant wasn't even half full, so we figured it would be smooth sailing. When you spend the money for a filet mignon, you expect a pretty good meal. Ordered medium rare, and this piece was cooked to death. The entire outside was crispy, black, and for sure had been pressed down hard. It was so flat it was unbelievable. Overcooked all the way through. The potatoes were cold and had clearly been sitting for some time. The second side never came. The other dishes at the table were decent, nothing special. Why didn't I send it back? Our server never came back until everyone else at the table was finished eating. No drink refills, no checking to see how our food was. Just dropped and that was it. When she did return, and my plate was basically untouched, she just said, "Anyone want dessert?" I wasn't going to order a new meal when everyone else was finished. Happy Mother's Day to me!

I use to love O'Charleys. The one near our house closed, so I was excited to eat here. The excitement wore off real quick. Our server took forever on everything and rarely came to check on us. The food was also terrible. Cold, soggy fries, hamburger buns fell apart, and a completely tasteless salad - I didn't know salads could be tasteless.
