Cold Stone Creamery

Wow! Cold Stone was once known as a place of joy and ice cream. That is definitely not the case at this location. The ice cream is still there, but definitely not the joy. When I arrived, i noticed there was a gentleman just outside the door with his son. I asked if he was waiting to get it, he replied, “yes”. I politely got behind him so that my wife and I could wait our turn. Shortly after, an older gentleman walked up and he got behind us. A few moments later, 4 people walked out of the Cold Stone. The gentleman and his son walked in, my wife and I proceeded behind them. I didn’t read the sign outside that said “2 parties” at a time in the store. I figured 4 people steeped out, 4 people can step in. Once my wife and I stepped in, the Cold Stone representative (ESTRELLA), didn’t greet us; however, she told us to wait outside. That’s when I took the time to read all the verbiage about “2 parties at a time”. Ok, I get it. So we politely waited outside and a few moments later 1 party left. Once we were inside a young lady came 1-2 minutes after we did (not the older gentleman). However, at this point there was 3 parties in the store. ESTRELLA, who was now helping us, looked at the young lady and said nothing. At first I didn’t say anything because I noticed the girl had a work uniform from a neighboring restaurant. I thought maybe she knew the Cold Stone staff or was related to one of them. Once she was greeted by a Cold Stone team member, I was certain there was no relation because of their dialogue. I proceeded to tell ESTRELLA, that I thought that was unfair. She tried justifying it, instead of just apologizing, because one party was about to leave. If that’s the case I could’ve stayed in the first time “because one party was about to leave”. Either everyone goes by what is said on the door or nobody. You can’t pick and choose. Then the older gentleman walks in. I proceeded to tell ESTRELLA, “he was behind me”. She said nothing, she didn’t apologize....nothing! This review is already longer than it should be, the point is, as a local to the Cerritos community I WILL NEVER step foot into this specific location ever again. But hey, that’s my opinion, if you like horrible customer service, this may be the place for you 😉

Like most Coldstones, this is a small location with no inside seating. The ice cream is good and the staff is efficient. The one downside of this location is parking. The developers crammed almost a dozen restaurants including a Starbucks and a buffet along with a grocery store and did not provide anywhere near enough parking. Your options are circling like a shark waiting for a spot to open or parking in Targets lot and walking over during busy times. That is one of the reasons why I don't usually go to this Coldstone unless I am already eating somewhere else in the center.
