Hy-vee Market Grille

Have breakfast group here every Saturday morning. Brenda is a wonderful server and recognizes each of us and is friendly above and beyond what is required to just take our orders and return with food. We genuinely feel appreciated and respected as people and not dollars. Sometimes we get to yacking among ourselves and lose time, but we have never been rushed or encouraged to buy more or leave.

Extremely dissatisfying, which is disappointing because I've enjoyed other Market Cafes at other Hyvee locations. Came here for Sunday Brunch, took 5+ minutes just to be acknowledged by the hostess. Buffet was almost $20 per head, and looking at the omelet bar and single table of food in warming trays, we optioned to get something off the menu. The food took over an hour to arrive, and when it did we were greeted by half portions, with maybe 3 inch sandwiches. The food quality itself was underwhelming to say the least, it carried the gritty, cheap quality of hospital cafeteria food. The nachos we ordered for an appetizer were stale, salt less chips with goopy, lukewarm gas station nacho cheese and limp strands of browning fast-food lettuce. Overall, the service here is very poor, the food quality is awful, and the prices are some of the highest in town while the portions are rather small. Don't go here, stick to just buying groceries at Hyvee. We didn't even want to pay the $40 it cost for two sandwiches for lunch.

Today marked the second time I dined here and ordered a steak cooked medium rare. And it was the second time the steak came to me cooked a very definite medium. The service was good, but there was very little done to make it right -- the staff acted embarrassed and wouldn't make eye contact once I complained -- and then gave me $5 off my meal. It was a little dissatisfying.
