A&w Restaurant

Me and my SO arrived for lunch service and were greeted and seated in a friendly manner. We both had the 6-course set meal… with myself having the sushi platter and my spouse having pork cutlet curry. Our server was very honest and told my SO that she would be too full with both the set menu and a bowl of ramen, and right they were! The food was delicious, bought out in good time and highly varied. The interior was pleasant enough and the pricing was very good - sushi/sashimi and Japanese food in general isn’t cheap, but at £70 (inc tip) we felt it was great value for money. Will be visiting again… for Ramen next time! Also the place was very much full and with regulars.

Wow! If you are looking for the freshest fish/seafood/ veg prepared to glorify the taste and texture - This Japanese restaurant is a must! Salmon-cucumber- avocado roll was of a very decent size. Fish was super moist and succulent which was nicely complemented with the freshness of cucumber and creaminess of the Avo. Rice bowl with teriyaki prawns was mind blowing. It was not overloaded with the sauce (see sugar) but the whole combo or rice, crunchy salad, sauce and the plummiest prawns gently marinated in some spices - amazing! I’ve never tried such a smartly balanced dish in other asian cuisine places. In this Japanese restaurant all seems to be made in a way to compliment the freshness of the fish and seafood rather than to hide it behind tones of sauces and spices. It would be rude not to mention the service. Front of the house is the most polite, and delicately welcoming person - ideal! Highly recommend this place and looking forward to be back.

Four of us tried Steaks N Sushi out for dinner during our staycation in Exeter/Devon (rather than our original planned holiday of Japan) and we loved this restaurant! The hotpot was a great sharing dish and sushi selection was lovely. Staff were friendly and made sure they provided us with lots of information on menu and dishes. Menu was extensive and pricing was very good value for money!

We came to this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago, not knowing what to expect. I've tried sushi before but my partner hadn't, it was such a good experience, the setting the atmosphere and the food was amazing, so much so we are planning on returning next week. And for someone who had never tried sushi before she loved it. Many many thanks.
