I am absolutely thrilled that this gem is located right here in Gaylord! I have been across the country for work and with each stop I search out a Thai restaurant for my favorite Pad Se Ew. While I was happy there was even a Thai place here I had my reservations as to “how good could it really be?” Ah Loy is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve had, I’d say in top 2! Now, I will say I’ve only had the Pad Se Ew and the Crab Rangoon (both on several occasions) with never a disappointment, I’ve yet to venture to their other cuisine. I will, I want to! The price is definitely fair, and I’d spend more due to their quality- I’ve spent far more at other places to have to throw the food away! Their servings are generous. The atmosphere is everything I’d want it to be- clean, bright, not overly cluttered with things to collect dust. Their employees have always been pleasant, helpful a never made me rushed. I call ahead and pick up my orders and it’s always ready so I can’t say anything on the timeliness of service, but I know I’d wait if I had to!! Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and with a fridge full of delicious leftovers I’m sitting here hoping Ah Loy will be open today!!

Where do I begin? The staff is on point. The restaurant itself is family owned which I personally love to support morr than some corporate chain. The decor & such inside is great. Very calming. Zen vibes. The food... is phenomenal! My kids & I have tried various things, mind you my youngest is 3 & we all love it! My favorite I've had so far is the Phoenix Chicken. Delicious & its not spicy. I loved the Egg Drop Soup & I normally dont care for that soup at all in other places. Basically, my family & I give it a 10/10! Nothing in Northern Michigan comes close! ❤️

It’s a nice clean Thai Chinese place. I love pad Thai and am particular about it — this place makes it very saucy which is not my style but it was still delicious. My daughter’s cheesy noodle was actually the exact flavor of Thai coconut soup Tom Kha Gai. That was scrumptious!! The fried rice was perfectly done and it was just generally good food. We will be back soon.

Great dining experience! The food was amazing. I ordered the almond boneless chicken, and my wife ordered the garlic chicken. Both entrees were wonderful! The egg drop soup was amazing too! We arrived at 7:00pm on a Wednesday and it was slammed. They seated us at the one of two tables that they had left open and we were a little nervous that the wait was going to be really long because of how packed it was. It wasn’t. It took about 15 minutes to put our order in, and that was only because of of how busy they were… and they gave us the heads up when we walked in. We had our food in about another 10 minutes after we ordered. We were impressed! We will be back. 💯

I am a hard Authentic Thai Critic and I know what's authentic or not. This place is the best in the northern part of lower peninsula off of i-75. Don't settle for burgers or fast food in the area and just come to Ah-Loy. You won't find another gem in the north. Don't listen to harsh 1-star critic burgerking Karens that couldn't have it their way.

Very busy place service was great. We had crab Rangoon and it was fabulous so was the sweet and sour sauce. My mom had the wonton soup and she loved it too. I also had egg drop soup and it was flavorful and great. I ordered the beef with veggies and very good portion and tasty. My son got beef chow mein and he loved it. My wife got the green curry dish for takeout the next day and she loved it as well. Highly recommend if you have not been but be prepared to wait about 45 minutes for your meal due to staffing and the care they take in preparation of your food but well worth the wait!!!
