Panera Bread

I would suggest that you avoid the Panera at 4259 Union Deposit Rd in Harrisburg, PA. While the food is up to the great standards set by most Paneras, this one is decidedly frustrating and disappointing. The kiosk method of food ordering is off-putting, and if there is a problem with your order, they make one try to call your phone and then put your order on hold, whether they dialed the correct phone number or not. Whether you are doing take out or dining in, they give you your food wrapped up and put in a paper bag with only the bare minimum of plastic utensils. This is definitely NOT what we have come to expect from Panera.

I've eaten in a lot of Panera Restaurants over the years and this one appeared to be the worst managed of them all. The trash was full and had not been emptied in hours. Someone had started to refill the tea canisters and left the bag of tea sitting. The basic appearance of the restaurant was disheveled. I ordered my food to dine in yet I was served in to go containers, while an employee served himself on regular dishes. I would go to another Panera location before returning here.

Large parking lot nearby capable of handling groups or buses. This Panera Bread has a drive through. The inside is spacious, but I died to give you privacy. Gentle light and an open design made this dining room very welcoming. The staff were friendly and lightning fast with my order. They do a good job keeping this place clean. Would recommend for a quick bite. Also you can expect a similar service to this from other Panera’s you’ve been to.

Its my first time to Panera Bread ever. The cashier was super friendly and super helpful when I asked for suggestions her name was Ashante. I was super satisfied until I got home and saw my Teriyaki chicken bowl. Are the serving sizes really that small? I paid $10.99 for this. No wonder they give you bread you kind of need it. I hope all their portions aren't super small or I won't be a customer for very long.

it was really busy with a sports team or 2 that ordered just ahead of us, so long wait that cashier Jeremy politely explained. food was delicious as usual after 45 minute wait but we had enjoyable time talking and my wife and I both noticed the hustle of Jeremy who never stopped moving, going from placing people's orders to carrying big stacks of dishes that kept developing to emptying trash cans &wiping counters off. First off, this is not to blame the staff at this location. They're short staffed and you do get a warning at the door that you'll have to either order online or through the kiosk when you walk in because of it. They're just working with the hand they've been dealt. This is just more a warning that if you go to this location make sure you ask how long the wait for food will be before you order. We found out from some of the other people waiting that they had already been there 45-60 mins waiting for their order to come up. Wouldn't have been an issue if weren't on our way to work. I have a feeling online orders are getting in the way of in-store customers and that may be why they were so backlogged.
