Tip Top

We tried eating at the Tip Top Cafe by recommendation from a family member and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and they all wore scrub shirts and pushed around carts with all the silverware, water, coffee, and completed food on it. It was unique! Tip Top Grand Slam (w/ Banana): The pancakes were delicious with the bananas! They almost melted in your mouth! The eggs, rice and sausage were also good. Ham and Cheese Omelette: The Omelette was very cheesy with diced ham chunks in it. Would have again!

I did not stay in the hotel we just ate breakfast there, I was told about this place by a buddy that is from Hawaii and he said I got to try it. I'm a huge breakfast guy, I love a traditional American breakfast, so I have always had a love hate relationship with Hawaii, no matter where I go I can never find that stateside meal I'm looking for. This place was very different from what I expected, I thought I was going in to a small homey feel type of place, nope, it was a large room with more of a cafeteria vibe to it. The service was good, and very efficient, if you ever go there you'll know what I'm talking about, it was a smaller menu with everything from breakfast to Asian food, like a lot of restaurants in the area, I went with the chicken fried steak and hash brown, when it arrived it had brown gravy and the hash brown was the frozen patty style, no you see what I mean by a propper stateside American breakfast. With all that said it was a pretty tasty breakfast, the hash brown was pretty good even though it's the same thing you would get from Mc D's but bigger, and I would have never thought of putty brown gravy on a chicken fried steak but it worked, it was very, very good, if I'm ever back in Kauai I will most definitely be going back.

We dined in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 10:30 am. The restaurant was almost full and gave a classic restaurant vibe. I saw some lunch items being served while we were there, and my mouth was watering. We only ordered breakfast. The Loco moco and the Mac nut pancake were amazing. It was definitely worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the food.
