This restaurant in Margaux, France, is one of the best we encountered in the Bordeaux region, which contains many fine restaurants. Elegantly decorated in a motif appropriate to the wine region, the food and service are superb. The raw salmon appetizer was delicious and creatively presented. The filet of sole meunière was utterly spectacular. The large, well-priced wine list was a delight. Dessert was absolutely delicious and full of great choices.
I cannot wait to return.

Lunch at The lovely Le Savoie restaurant. It included a 3 course selection in addition to a great wine from the area. We got to sit on the patio on a beautiful day. I highly recommend this great little restaurant in the marvelous area of France!

On a weekday afternoon, the town of Margaux was very quiet. There didn't seem to be a ton of restaurants around the area, and I had found La savoie recommended online, so I made a reservation on the Fork.
When we checked in, they couldn't find the reservation (computer glitch), but they were nice about seating us for lunch anyway. They have a nice covered / enclosed patio out back, which was really nice for lunch
For wines, they had a few Margauxs by the glass, which is harder to come across. The owner recommended some local reds by the glass, and we liked one of them enough that we went to visit the winery after (Château Prieuré Lichine).
We did a 3 course lunch for €33; they also had some other tasting and set menu options that were a little more expensive.
To start: we both got the same
- Poached egg: a rich poached hen's egg with truffle, great for dipping bread
Mains:
- Truffle omelette with salad (one of the mains): the omelette was quite light and was done just right, and it was very very generous on the black truffles. The chanterelles were great, and the dressing on the salad was good
- Rib of beef: tender, with a rich red wine reduction
For dessert, we both opted for the cheese plate. With your coffee at the end, you also get a mini canele.
The restaurant had a small town feel, and it seems family run, which is nice. The patio was really nice for lunch, and it was a good place to stop for lunch while visiting wineries in Margaux.
I was so surprised. This was the best meal I had in Bordeaux. The lamb chops were better than my favorite restaurant at home. The pork flavor with the ginger and the pineapple was so tasty. A little less done would be better to our taste.

Wow, this was the best meal we had staying four days in Bordeaux. We had the darade fish. Just amazing. Also the bread was outstanding.
It's hard to go to a restaurant in one of the Provence areas in France that's popular amongt the locals and not think it heavenly. Le Savoie - located outside Bordeaux - is the same experience. I give it 4 stars out of 5 but that's only because I'm judging it in comparison with other French restaurants in France. If this restaurant was in the States it would be a 5-star hands down.
The veggies and fresh fruit that adorns each dish plentifully ate simply spectacular. For the fish dish we had (cabillaud), these garnishes outshines the fish itself. Not so for the veal chop - this was spectacular. And whatever you do, end the meal with their chocolat dish!
Had a very nice meal. Service was great and the food met expectations. Wasn't the best I have had but certainly a very very good meal.
Worth a stop. The sea urchin bisque in the grilled seafood platter was world class. Tops!!!!! Best EVER!!!!!
De passage dans le secteur après quelques visites de caves à Margaux, nous faisons une pause repas par hasard ici.
Le lieu donne envie, belle terrasse, beaucoup d’ombre. Placement et accueil agréable. A quelques pas des châteaux..
Le repas fut très bon. Service chaud et rapide.
Interaction avec le cuisinier. Top.
Pour un repas le midi ou un dîner, n’hésitez pas.

Une belle découverte car au delà du cadre agréable, la cuisine est vraiment d'un excellent niveau.
A la hauteur de sa réputation, les mets sont parfaitement mariés et les équilibres sont maîtrisés de l entrée au dessert.
Seul petit bémol passez par une réservation standard plutôt que par the fork( surtout durant le service ) .
Que dire à part que tout a été parfait c’était une très belle découverte.
J’y ai déjeuné avec une amie côté bistrot et les plats servis étaient vraiment délicieux autant pour elle que pour moi.
Les serveurs et le chef sont très agréables.
On reviendra c’est certain.
Et n’hésitez pas à y aller vous ne serez pas déçus.
Demander une table dans le patio, tellement plus agréable ( nappes blanches, calme) que la terrasse extérieure sur la rue et demander la carte avec les suggestions du chef.
Restaurant gastronomique, je me suis absolument régalée avec le ris de veau au foie gras.

Deux formules s'offrent à vous, la formule brasserie ou la formule restaurant. Nous avons opté pour le restaurant, un cadre magnifique, le service irréprochable et une cuisine délicieuse, en font une excellente adresse sur Margaux.
J'ai rarement mangé un risotto aussi bon.

Un immense merci à Philippe Vilet et toute son équipe pour nous avoir si bien accueilli le lendemain soir de notre mariage. Nous avions organisé un diner au restaurant Le Savoie pour continuer les festivités avec tout ceux qui le souhaitaient. Nous étions presque 70 personnes et tout le monde a mangé chaud et en même temps. Pour simplifier la logistique du repas, nous avions convenu avec Philippe d’un menu unique avec entrée et plat et c’était absolument parfait! Tout le monde était impressionné. Les plats étaient très bien présentés, le service impeccable. Je n’ai eu que des compliments de la part de tout le monde. Chacun a pu payer sa part séparément et ils ont été très nombreux à aussi commander un dessert. Aucun problème d’organisation, au contraire, toute l’équipe s’est montrée ultra sympa et serviable. Et puis, évidemment, le cadre était formidable. Ils nous avaient privatisés la terrasse extérieur puisqu’il faisait beau. Ils ont aussi un très beau patio intérieur s’il avait plu. Encore merci, un excellent souvenir.

Bon accueil chaleureux, très belle salle intérieure, que nous connaissions déjà. Très bon repas d'anniversaire. Très heureux que vous ayez pu nous proposer un fraisier pour le dessert pour le fêter, en bonne compagnie.
Petite touche un peu négative : le pâté proposé avec l'apéro, qui n'est pas en adéquation avec le très bon menu.
