Avis sur Fleur Café

Slow service, bland crepes. We sat down as the only table. After 10 minutes, I went inside to see if anyone was around. I was immediately greeted with "sit down and I'll come to you". 5 minutes later the waitress came down and said I couldn't sit in a middle table but had to sit at the end (again, only table). The food itself was bland. The beer had floating objects in it. Not a great snack spot.

If it were possible to give negative stars for managing to fulfill every caricature of the petit-bourgeois cafe owner mentality, then this place deserves it! First, my apologies to the owner if in fact the blond woman managing the place on Dec 30, 2016 is not actually the owner. If she is the owner, then she deserves every bit of this little piece of karma for the New Year. Apparently she was the French understudy for the diner waitress in 5 Easy Pieces. We were a family of 4 with 2 children who sat down hoping for a little post-lunch snack of crepes that we had promised the kids. Fleur seemed to fit the bill. We ordered 2 crepes for the 4 of us, since nobody was very hungry and that's all the sweets we really needed. We also had an espesso and cappuccino. Pretty simple request. The waitress proceeded to hiss that our kids should sit down and not watch the crepes being made through the window opening. She also decided that 2 sets of forks was enough for the 4 of us and when we asked for another set, she huffed and mumbled something about a supplement. I'd find out later what she meant. Apparently, the frosting on her cake was when our kids pulled out their previously saved water bottles and had a sip after their Nutella crepe. Mon Dieu! Sacrilege! She told us to put away the water we had not purchased from her. At that point I'd had enough insolence for the day (its bad enough when it's coming from your 9 and 11 year olds) but I draw the line at flesh and blood. So when I went to pay and found the 2.50 couvert charge for the extra set of silverware on the bill. I told her she was epitome of the "trap touriste" and wished her much love and happiness in 2017. That sure set her off. Good thing my French is terrible. France is a lovely country full of lovely and generous people, don't let the few Cafe Fleurs spoil it for you. I know I won't!

Wow! After traveling for 24 hours, my husband and I were weary, hungry and ready to be done with our day. Our hotel room wasn't ready yet so we decided to stop by here on a whim. I'm so glad we did! I had the Nutella banana crepes and they were amazing!! Gorgeous presentation and the woman working the register was incredibly friendly, too. My French isn't great but she was patient and helped me figure out what to say. We will certainly be back here for breakfast.

Un bon endroit où, en tant que personne handicapée en fauteuil roulant, je me sentais très à l'aise. La nourriture était fantastique. Si je reviens un jour à Nice, je visiterai certainement ce restaurant. Mais je viens du Danemark. Il faut suffisamment de temps pour que le fauteuil roulant se trouve à Nice. Il y a un long chemin ... Merci beaucoup pour le bon service et la bonne nourriture.
