The best meal I’ve ever had in Paris. The only thing better than the food was the staff. They all clearly enjoy what they do and love to be there. Bravo. I’m spreading the word when I get back to NY. L’Ami Jean is the best !
Love this place although so do all of the Americans in Paris. The mains are large, but you must save space for the rice pudding. Veal is his deal, and the braised version is to die for. Service and atmosphere is excellent and a must do for anyone visiting. Menu only in French but the waiters can translate.

So I have no idea why anyone is giving this place less than 4 stars. Oh wait, I know, because they have little to no clue about dining.
Tips:
1) Do the 7pm seating and get there early. The banter with the staff at start of service is wonderful.
2) If you don't speak fluent French, save yourself the hassle and just get the six course tasting menu.
3) Blow the budget if you must and get a bottle of Burgundy wine to go with the tasting menu. You'll hate me for the cost but love me for how well it pairs with the tasting.
We had:
Cream of Porcini Soup -- TO DIE FOR
Pork Terrine -- Yumtastical
Risotto -- more taste explosions
Quail Breast -- OutSTANDING
Monkfish -- SO Well cooked I cried
Duck -- quackity yum yum that came with mashed potatoes that you will commit a felony to get hold of again in your life.
THEN they brought two desserts...
Rice pudding...totally holds up to hype
Strawberries, Cream & Mint Ice cream
To sum up...shut up & go at 7. Get the tasting menu. Burgundy. Crawl out happy at 9:15ish.

Our visit for dinner on Tuesday night was AMAZING! From the charm of the staff and the most flavorful food you'll enjoy in Paris. If you don't appreciate great food and wine...don't waste their time and then write a bad review. My husband and I enjoyed our meal with another couple, and this was definitely the restaurant highlight of our stay. We will be back next year when returning to Paris...French cuisine at its finest!
Despite a Mix up with my reservation, I was seated and had a great meal. It’s game season, so had hare and quail. Fantastic and delicious
. And of course the famous rice pudding for desert. Great staff
We had a wonderful evening with an excellent dinner at L'Ami Jean. The "Carte Blanche" menu was full of delicious, high-quality surprises. Even if they had run around a lot, all the waiters and the nice waitress always found time for a friendly word or a little joke. And the chef Stéphane Jégo is not only a fantastic cook, but also a person who is in good touch with his guests. Six very happy people left the restaurant with a belly full of great food! 🙂And for sure we will come back! :-) <3

There are thousands of restaurants in Paris but L'Ami Jean has been my favorite on each and every trip. I have heard it said that the restaurants near any tourist attraction are overpriced tourist traps but not in this case. The restaurant's proximity to the Eiffel tower makes for some wonderful after dinner strolling. I made sure to take my son there for dinner, on his first trip to Paris, so that he could experience a masterpiece from old world master and taste what the chef's of Paris have known for years. This is THE one place you must try while you are here. Be sure to make a reservation and yes they do speak english (as do many people in Paris). The staff is super friendly! If I was to have a last meal on this earth, besides my parent's cooking of course, it would be from this restaurant.
Tell them that Felix sent you and they will just look at you funny, as they have no clue who I am, but I now consider this a must stop on any trip to Paris. And yes, I have actually done a layover at CDG just to visit this place. Bon Appétit!

D'excellents produits parfaitement cuisinés, on les redécouvre.
Le plat de ris de veau était parfait et la pavlova un vrai régal.
J'ai aussi goûté le riz au lait : un merveille.
Un service souriant et efficace ainsi qu'un joli cadre complètent le tableau
Expérience extra, très convivial. Une cuisine divine. Un personnel aux petit oignons, vraiment sympathique et à l'écoute. Merci infiniment pour cette expérience culinaire je recommande vivement.
La perfection n'existe peut-être pas mais le moment passé en votre établissement en est proche! La qualité et l'authenticité se ressentent autant dans les assiettes que chez le chef !

Superbe adresse, terriblement canaille ! Le ris de veau est incroyable. Pas donné mais ça en vaut la chandelle ! C est gourmand à souhait, difficile de tenir l entrée / plat / dessert même quand on est très bon mangeur ! :-)
Jamais déçue de l’ami jean ! Toujours aussi copieux et grâce à un désistement on a eu une table dernière minute
Surtout il faut goûter le riz au lait qui est loin incroyable !
J ai passé un excellent moment le personnel très attentionné au client et la cuisine toujours aussi excellente . Je recommande cette adresse.
Ce restaurant vaut le détour ! La cuisine est savoureuse et généreuse, le service est super ! La terrine maison est incroyable, tout comme le reste des plats : poulpe, soupe de parmesan, les viandes confites et l'incontournable riz au lait. Merci au chef Stéphane et son équipe pour leur accueil et ce bon moment passé.

Très bon restaurant. Plats parfaitement maitrisés. Clientèle variée. A essayer.
Petit bémol: tables collées les unes aux autres pour faire plus de couverts, mais du coup pas confortable
Le service est toujours au top depuis des années, le chef est une légende même quand il n’est pas là comme ce jour-là, le personnel est très sympa, le riz au lait est toujours aussi soyeux et gourmand, la volaille en deux façons est extraordinaire et les sauces, tout un art, la terrine reste une valeur sûre, le cochon est bon.
Les plats sont bons et généreux, les goûts sont travaillés et les jus délicieux.
Le service de qualité. Possibilité d'emporter un riz au lait à la fin du repas.
