For a Mother's Day treat, I meandered over to Berthillon early this Sunday morning. So many reviewers warned of long lines, but I had the place all to myself shortly after they opened. Everyone raved about the different flavors, but the ones that seemed to "pop" the most were wild strawberry and caramel beurre sale. I threw chocolate into the mix, because, hey, it's chocolate! All were delicious individually and together. I'll definitely come back and try some different flavors next time I'm on the Ile de St. Louis. While it's not inexpensive (6.40€ for 3 small boules-or scoops), it's worth it for the occasional splurge. After all, it's kind of a priceless experience to walk along the Seine on a sunny day, eating the best ice cream in Paris!
