I have had the distinct pleasure of attending both Burnt Food and Burnt Wine events. Emma is a consummate hostess. She is an excellent cook. I have tried so many new and different foods and flavor combinations, thanks to her and to her events. She is also extremely knowledgeable our her wines, spirits and their pairings. Additionally, and perhaps, for me, most importantly, Emma has a gift for bringing together interesting and captivating people which leads to vibrant conversations and, more often than not, new friendships. She makes you feel at home in her home. My only complaint is that I never, ever leave as early as I plan to. But that's not really a complaint, is it?

Not only is Emma a great chef and knowledgeable about all things alcohol, she also has a huge network of well-informed and interesting people who are happy to share their booze knowledge with you. The Burnt Wine event I attended focused on natural Georgian wines and it was a revelation, not only did I discover a whole new world of wines, I was treated to an amazing meal that featured regional specialties. Emma's events can transport you to parts of the world you never knew and put you in touch with interesting people you wouldn't have otherwise met. WIn-Win!!
