We arrived at about 9:15pm at Le Coq Rouge after trying unsuccessfully to get into two other restaurants without reservations. The place was buzzing and after initially being told that they were full, the owner ran after us as we were leaving and offered us a table.
This wine bar is an absolute gem. Not only were we warmly welcomed but we had an amazing wine tasting paired with a delicious charcuteries/cheese plate, melt in your mouth meatballs, mini sardines.
The real Stars of the experience were of course the wines. We went By the glass, starting with a delicious Philliponat brut Champagne, an Alice Corton, and then a Cotes du Rhône.
If we come back to Reims, we will definately call ahead to make a reservation, or get down on our knees to beg for a table.

What a wonderful place! Terrific ambiance. Really packed with locals. Loved the sounds of everyone speaking French, the clatter of wine glasses, and the whirring of the hand cranked meat slicer. The tables are really close together and the candle light is magical. You can't help but get to know your neighbors which added to the convivial atmosphere.
They have an extensive wine list, by the bottle for the most part. It wasn't a problem to consume with the steady stream of nibbles we ordered. The Iberico was delicious. We also got the Mont d'Or: a baked rind cheese served with a baguette, roasted potatoes and salad. It was luxurious. The cheese was enclosed in a wooden basket and when baked turned molten in the middle while the rind became cracklingly crisp. Wow! I suggest their cote du bouef. Others ordered it, a huge platter of melting cheese, beef, roasted potatoes and more. Oh and dessert we had a duo of crime brûlée (vanilla and pistachio) which came with crime brûlée ice cream on the side.
The staff speak French and were happy to help even though they were so busy. A real gem.
My husband and I went to this wine bar twice during our stay in Reims on June 2017. The food was excellent and the wine selection was incredible. The owner provided very good advise on the type of wine we should drink and we loved all his suggestions. The place is small and gets crowded at night, so I strongly suggest to make reservations.
Excellent charcuterie platte, although it should have been a bit bigger for the 3 of us. The service is really great, and the guy who served us was up for a good chat.
The wine selection was quite good and the prices were reasonable.
Be there early unless you have a reservation as it gets crowdy around 8 pm.
Excellent bar à tapas avec un large choix pour les buveurs. Service impeccable mais dommage que l’amex ne soit pas accepté.
Sinon les tapas sont excellents, bien servis et arrivent plutôt sans trop tarder. Je recommande vivement pour un moment convivial mais sans enfant :)
Un endroit très convivial. Un patron et une équipe vraiment agréable et arrangeante. Une planche bien garnie pour un prix raisonnable et de beaux vins à la carte.
Parfait !!! Carte de vin avec beaucoup d'options et avec un bon sommelier, les tapas très délicieux 😋, musique superbe et les personnels sympa et chaleureux. Mais il faut réserver la table après 20h. Je recommande 😀
Lieu très agréable. Accueillis par Axelle avec le sourire qui a su nous placer au meilleur endroit pour une soirée en famille et nous a bien conseillés tout au long du service sur les vins et les plats. Parfait moment entre amis, une cuisine maison avec des vins choisis avec goût par le sommelier. Je recommande !! Aucune hésitation à avoir!

Bar à vin qui propose des tapas. Accueil, déco et cadre très agréables. Une très belle carte de vins et une belle proposition de tapas. Un peu cher mais très bon. Petite terrasse sur le trottoir. Nous avons passé un très agréable moment.
