Olivette Diner

Friendly neighborhood diner. Food is great, coffee is delicious. So far I have had the bacon, eggs, gravy, sourdough toast, French toast -- all were outstanding. The slinger being served to another table looked mouthwatering and I am going to come in for lunch next time to order a burger and fries. There aren't many places like this left; your fastfood joints just cannot compete with a good old-fashioned American diner. Super friendly owner, too :)

This was our first time eating here. I had the Bananas Foster Waffle. It was delicious. The warm banana, brown sugar, cinnamon sauce paired with the ice cream made a great flavor combination. My husband had the omelette with hash browns. Everything was cooked well. Cash only. There is an ATM inside.

Old school genuine diner vibe, great food. All of the employees work together, so multiple people checked in on us and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. I've been a few times and it's always good. I've had the chicken fried steak - order this!, chicken and waffles - the tenders were basic frozen I prob wouldn't order again and the pancakes and they were amazing. I like that they have a nice variety on the menu and you can switch it up every time you go. They also have combos and they are a great value. I've seen lots of sandwiches coming off the grill and the they looked so good! The bread was large pieces, always grilled perfect and we were drooling over them. They were really popular. Will have to try one sometime. They are cash or check only. They have an ATM onsite in the back. It's a small space but people are in and out quickly.

If you are searching for fine dining, this isn’t your place. This is a true diner, greasy spoon style. While we were eating, a lady returned her food because it was too oily. At a greasy spoon, That’s what you get. Our food was very good and I really enjoyed the breakfast as in the photo above. The diner is not very big so you might have to wait.

This is a great, classic “greasy spoon” diner. Burgers and grilled items are the most popular, but you can order a salad if you want something less oily. The crispy chicken salad is great! Their old-fashioned milkshakes are another reason to go there. In fact, the reason for our most recent visit was to get a milkshake. The only reason I gave the food four stars was because you need to take a statin before you eat 😂. Melinda and the rest of the crew know their regulars, and that adds a wonderful personalized touch. Good value for the money, most entrées are $10 or less.

My wife and I LOVE this place! Diverse crowd, and it’s the best local diner in the area. They are VERY busy on weekends which usually we have to wait a few minutes for a table to open up, but we don’t mind! The staff are friendly and work super hard. They were buzzing around all morning when we arrived around 10:30am. They treat all their customers like family. Prices are excellent and portions are plentiful! Their pancakes and waffles are truly magical. I don’t k ow what they put in them but man you can taste the love in those things!!! If you want a nice, affordable breakfast or lunch, go visit here! They are cash only, so bring cash with you, or there’s an ATM to use. PLEASE keep in mind, this is a small diner and not good for large parties. There’s just not the room for that.

I’ve been coming here for years before they were Olivette Diner, and they were known as Rite Way Diner. World famous band Head East photographed the cover for their album here back in the day. I started coming here for the nostalgia many years ago. It is owned by the nicest of couples, and they serve incredibly delicious food, kindness, friendliness, great crispy bacon, waffles, a ridiculously size green-colored burrito the size of a Buick, and the place is a retro cool vibe. They are such a vital part of the Olivette community. Friends to all the firefighters, police officers, politicians and residents. People drive for miles just for a slice of pie, or a classic cheeseburger, fries and a cola. Highly recommend.!
