Merhaba Restaurant

I learned of this restaurant via Google. I spent the day in STL and was looking for a different Ethiopian restaurant to try. The usual place has ups and downs with the quality of their food. I was happy to try the food here! I ordered the vegan Ethiopian plate and my tastebuds SANG! I ordered the Jamaican vegan plate to go. The service was great. Background music was a whole vibe. I look forward to my next visit.

We have been to the restaurant twice now and both times the food was absolutely amazing! We hosted a family event of about 30 people and the food did not disappoint! Everything was on point, the service was great! The staff kept checking up on us and topping up the food without us asking. We had brought our own decorations as well and they were okay with us setting them up as well.

I discovered this place at the “Festival of Nations” last year and was immediately blown away. Discovered when searching for them, that they were close to me! Finally got the chance to try it, for takeout a few months ago. I ate it so quickly I didn’t get a chance to take a photo! Went there again recently and remembered to snap a photo. Their sambusa is really good. The dried spices that come with it are just as good, and have a little kick to them. Get them! Got the chicken tibbs and lamb (kelwa begged). It’s authentic, delicious, and LARGE portions! Merhaba will now forever be on my list of go to places in U-City. If you haven’t been here, take the risk and go; you won’t be disappointed!
