With a fuller menu and a vast selection of imported international beers to match, The Rockin’ Diner takes heavy influence from the San Francisco and Hawaiian diners and bars that owner Kelly Koh is keenly familiar with. “American food is all about over-indulgence and generous portions,” Kelly says. “We are adamant in keeping The Rockin’ Diner true to the same vision, so we serve everything big, or we don’t even bother.” Kelly uses only pure handpicked premium beef cuts, a sign of his commitment to serving his customers “simple, no-nonsense, real food with no fillers”.

A rather unassuming exterior with a relaxed vibe, great beer and enjoyable music. The owner and staff are some of the most inviting and conversational in Singapore, and the hotdogs are probably the best below the equator. Typically American bars are associated with blasé beer selection and mediocre food with accommodating prices. The Mustard Incident instead overdelivers on its food and drink but keeps prices on the friendly American side. Two thumbs up.
