Backwoods Bar And Grill

The food was decent. The prices were okay but the portions were larger than expected. The service was good considering how short staffed they are. There is one person working in the kitchen and one person out front. The poor girl out front had to be the bartender and the waitress. I have to give her credit. There were 35 people there when we were there and she was able to keep up with every one at the bar and everyone seated all by herself.

Really tastey food and an amazing view from the patio! The patio did not have table service during our visit, which made the patio more pleasant and less crowded - I can afford to walk a few feet to pick up my food. I highly recommend the pizza and the baked cod. They have gluten-free options, but the menu is not well marked, and the staff has little information about the alternative options that are available. Avoid the lemonade.

First visit on our way from the Northwoods - easy to find off of I39 - exit 163 at Casimir Rd, Right on N 2nd St - just a minute down the road. First visit - I tried the 3 piece cod - Friday Fish Fry - I liked the fish and I like when a place offers their fish fry throughout the day. I had the waffle fries (which were a little cold when served but I didn't have time to send them back, which I'm sure they would have easily accommodated), she tried the shrimp dinner - they were delicious. The hit of the visit was the corn nuggets - if you like corn nuggets - you need to stop at Backwoods Bar & Grill and give them a try. Good first vist, we'll definitely stop again. Enjoy, we did.
