My fiancee and I stopped in for a quick bite and we are so happy we did! This place has quality food for reasonable prices! The hot dogs were amazing and the potatoes are out of this world. We especially enjoyed the curry mayo dip for the fries! Will definitely be coming back here and bringing anyone else with me that I can!

While driving back home to Chicago from NY, I just saw & passed Rootin' Tootin' while getting back onto I-80. I stopped on the shoulder of the entrance ramp, googled Rootin' Tootin' & saw excellent reviews...
I contemplated how I can get back onto the main road from the expressway ramp & wondered to myself if backing up, hanging a totally illegal U-Turn on the ramp is worth a stinkin' hot dog???
Well, I found out.... The answer is yes, it was well worth it !!!
It's hard to find a hot dog joint that char grills hot dogs, not to mention with added bacon on a really good roasted bun, a side of deep fried tater chunks with more bacon & cheese, and some really good cole slaw...
They also have a world map on the wall for customers to put a colored "push pin" to show where they live. There is a pin on about 80% of the world map, from Russia, Africa, Asia, Alaska...
A definite place to stop & chow down!!

Hubby & I first stopped in here when in town for a friend's wedding celebration back in April so when we were invited back down for a weekend with friends our first thought was YES!!! we can get some more of those amazing hot dogs. We were so impressed with not only how delicious the hot dogs were each time but the service is better than a lot of upper end restaurants we've been to. Although all of the hot dogs we've tried have been very good, the City Slicker is by far our favorite, the spicy NY red onion sauce is to die for. I do believe that the restaurant has changed hands since our first visit but that's the only difference and I did prefer the traditional ground beef style chili offered on our second visit to the pulled beef chili on the Rootin Tootin dog, the pulled beef was not as sweet and a little bitter in my opinion. They also had a chili cheeseburger on the menu on our second visit which hubby tried and fell in love with. While the hot dogs are the stars of the show trust me when I tell you to leave room for the Smashed Potatoes - smooshed baby red potatoes fried on the griddle and served with a dipping sauce, I have tried the Honey mustard and the garlic aoli and the garlic is my very favorite. On our most recent visit we also tried the baked beans but were a bit disappointed with how dry they were but perhaps it was the last of the batch. One of the best things besides being farm to table is that the hot dogs are served on toasted, New England style buns - I only wish I could find these locally to buy for home. There's a small dining room with an original jukebox - no CD's in this oldie but goodie- that plays 45's and the walls are decorated with album covers from bygone eras and even a map so visitors can place a pin from where they are from - We saw pins from Japan and other faraway countries. We're already looking forward to our next visit to the area and Rootin' Tootin' Hot Dogs will be our very first stop.

Perfect place to find, after long hike. The most perfectly made hot dog I have ever experienced. Staff super friendly, and good specials selection. They use local farms!

Wow! That's all I need to say! If you're in the area (or even if you're not) this place is a great escape from the average eatery. Low prices, local hot dogs, home made cheese sauce (Crazy good!), home made ice cream sandwiches, and everything was cooked /after/ we ordered it. Beyond delicious! The atmosphere is fantastic: well maintained jukebox, classic diner decor, and a small (but cozy) eating area. When I'm back around town I'm 100% coming back! Can't wait for my next meal!

Hot dogs menu has a variety of choices and toasted buttered buns, sides like home made mac n cheese, FRIED BABY RED potatoes, that are incredible. Dipping sauces are also home Made and highly recommended. Juke box plays 3 songs for a quarter, this is a blast from the 50's. Awesome place, and great customer service!
