Delhi 7 Indian Restaurant And Bar

A foray into suburban curry holes was proceeded with a level of skepticism from the attendees. Online reviews painted an image of a former neighbourhood stalwart with slipping standards. Missing rice, byo seasonings, and missing flavour. A friend took charge of ordering a unique combination of mains. The inclusion of a prawn saag drew raised eyebrows from the table but was balanced by a safe Rogan Josh, chicken badam pasanda and a special dish: the bullet chicken rajdhani. The latter was the first to come To the table - firmly ablaze and noisily sizzling much to the surprise and delight of the attendees. Such theatre has yet to be seen, perhaps never will be again. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all. well prepared, seasoned and spiced across the board. The prawn saag was testament to our friend’s free wheeling approach to Indian cuisine, and we were rewarded handsomely for his reckless abandon. With expectations on Delhi 7 mixed at best, it delivered strongly and will be noted as one of the better options in Wellington.

Last week I visited this place, being a tourist in northland I was sceptical about this place. However, the experience was pretty good. The service delivery was on point. The atmosphere was amicable and pleasant. But the delicious food was the highlight of this place. Special mention to the Sizzler and Butter Chicken, it was the best I have ever had. Being an Indian it’s very difficult to find a place which can give me the taste of home, but this place just felt like home in taste and in environment. So glad to come across this place. strongly recommending.

Excellent service, short wait times but enough time between entrees and mains. Food was absolutely amazing, very delicious. 5 adults with 5 seperate dishes all felt it was the best version we had tasted of the curries we chose. A little on the pricier end, but you get what you pay for - top service and top food.

Excellent service and a superb selection of finely prepared Indian dishes. The standard of cooking here is very high, a reasonable selection of overseas and New Beers and wines is available as well as the option to order the food to take away. Not your usual destination for restaurants ( unless you want fish and chips, pizza or burgers) Northland benefits from this excellent little restaurant. Try their Delhi 7 specials / I especially enjoyed their “Bullet Chicken” served flaming on a cast iron plate. The Garlic Naan is superb!

Last supper before the Lock down. We've been living in Northland for 2 years and this is our first visit to this place. Finally, a kiwi curry house that does "Indian hot" properly. Had an outstanding Hot Chicken Madras, an awesome Mild Madras and the butter chicken was fab too. 3 empty plates. We'll definitely be visiting post lock down.
